Dear Blog Judges

Dear Blog Judges,

We are here today to prove to you why 05S70 should win the best blog competition. I'll be presenting to you our achievement and what we have done these 2 months as a class. Others will be touching on other aspects tt make 70 so wonderful.

Orientation 2005
Undoubtedly 70 was one of the noisiest groups around and many of the school councillors loved us. Most notably we were the only class with our very own class dance to All Star by Smash Mouth, choreographed by dance i/c Sebbie Ho, while class games also emerged during idle moments. Meeting our seniors for the first time was also a blast, despite including plenty of intimate moments involving cards and mints.

CIP at Kovan
Where else can you find a class with members helping in packing supplies for the tsunami victims after the first day of formal lesson? Just about 10 classmates trooped down to a collection centre in Kovan and joined in Mercy Relief for a day.

Various Birthday Celebrations
With our assignment of Alice and Xingyan as the Activities&Welfare (A&W) i/cs, it has become customary for birthday celebrations to be regarded as major events, involving fun celebrations at KAP, Café Cartel and Marché respectively for the birthdays so far. Not to mention the gifts catered specially to each individual's liking. (:P)

Junior-Treat-Senior (JTS)
70 was one of the rarer classes which organised JTS first rather than STJ. Held at Fish & Co opposite plaza singapura, it was a memorable occasion - not forgetting that the juniors and seniors sat on alternate seats too.

Preparation for the Class Blog
Our class blog is not merely just a blog or online journal - we've got photos, news sections, cheers/dance/rap/games sections and not forgetting our People section - thanks especially to blog administrators Calvin and Kenneth. Upon deciding on the retro theme 'that70show', 70 took a series of photographs coined 'the Retro shots' of us in various dance poses, which were edited by Kenneth for that special effect. Creating a blog isn't just an issue for the webmasters, for 70 it is in fact a class effort.

Talentime 2005 Auditions
12 members (the maximum number allowed) of the class took a shot at Talentime 2005 despite other heavy commitments with a new dance to Numb by Linkin' Park. While we didn't qualify, it was for certain an attempt that needed loads of dedication and late nights of practice.

Inter-CT Debates
05S70 put up a commendable display in both debates against formidable opposition in the form of Humanities classes, along with less-than-favourable debate motions, resulting in very close results in both debates.

Chinese New Year Celebrations
05S70 opened a stall selling home-made cheese dip along with servings of fries, wedges, nuggets, crackers and onion rings, along with porcelain tiles designed by Grace, and made a profit. While some busied themselves with preparation of the cheese dip, a large group was involved in painting our class banner designed by Sharan, and with sparks of abstract brilliance from Eddie, materialised into quite a stylish banner.

Dramafeste 2005 - Ares: That Hindi Show
A huge proportion of the Ares production cast and crew was from 04 and 05S70 - the entire choral section with 8 people; Calvin as Prince Bodosamy in the main cast; Jianni, Olivia, Huiting, Jessica in makeup; Song Ern, Jessica and Jianni helping out backstage; and most importantly Joanne, Caryn and Michelle were our three charismatic directors and scriptwriters. Ares clinched the Best Ensemble award in the competition.

Senior-Treat-Junior (STJ)
STJ took place at Cartel at Suntec and was even more lively than JTS earlier - with the emergence of MTV stars, vegetable cults, choirs and lingerie models. Definitely a night to remember.

Various 'Days'
70 has also had various amusing 'thematic days' including Geek day, Bimbotic Day, Jacket Day, and Uniforms Day in which the whole class sportingly took part in. Photos are available in our photos section!

This is by no means an exhaustive list and the first 2 months have been very fulfilling thus far. Keep going 70!
